How to lay paving block Unknown

Pavers, stones and bricks come in a variety of sizes and shapes and can easily be laid to achieve a functional yet beautiful alternative surface.
The most important products to have once the design, size and shape of the pavers have been determined, are all Purpose Sand and/or Sand Mix.
Leveling/preparing surface
On earthen base:
Stake-out corners and extend a string around perimeter of project area.
Include the width of your chosen border material. Dig out and level the area.
Install and level a 2 inch bed of All-Purpose Sand over the area. Give border installation special emphasis - your project's appearance depends on a solid, uniform border.

Over concrete/asphalt:
Correct surface defects including cracks, holes and chips. Use Top'n Bond® to correct surface defects in concrete and Black top Patch to correct asphalt defects. Use lumber or other suitable materials to outline area.
Installing pavers
Lay out pavers to form a tight, patterned look. If necessary, pavers can be cut into smaller pieces. After marking the cut, use hammer and masonry chisel to score along the line.
Repeat procedure until a deep groove appears. With paver portion to be used pointing toward you, strike along groove line sharply. Tapping with hammer removes small fragments that may remain. (Wear safety equipment and clothing.)

Finishing

Pour All-Purpose Sand onto working surface and work down between voids. The All Purpose Sand will settle in joints over time.
Another way to install pavers is by using Sand Mix in place of the All Purpose Sand in the joints between each paver.
After laying the stones or pavers in a bed of sand, sweep Sand Mix in the joints. Then using a sprinkler, lightly spray water on the surface. Since Sand Mix contains cement, it results in a mortar joint and sets the stone. The result is a tighter, firmer surface. It is important that all the Sand Mix is swept into each joint before sprinkling with water. Any residue will stick to the surface of the stones and be hard to remove later.
